What Is the CompreFit?
Non-Elastic Gradient Compression
The CompreFit UNIVERSAL is an all new, non-elastic lower extremity garment that provides 30-40mmHg gradient compression. Easier to put on than elastic stockings with similar compression, the CompreFit promotes a high rate of compliance. Made from polyester and Velcro™, the CompreFit is lightweight, durable, and very comfortable. The CompreFit is available in beige or black, matching with the colors of most clothing.
Adjustable
The unique design offers up to 4 inches ( 10cm) of circumferential adjustability. The length can also be adjusted up to 1 inch (2.5cm). There are only five easy measurements to take to determine the optimal size (see standard Sizing Chart). The interlocking and overlapping strap design makes it easy to achieve consistent, gradient compression.
Effective
The UNIVERSAL is designed for daytime use for individuals with the following indications: lymphedema, post-surgical swelling, chronic venous insufficiency, and is effective in the treatment of venous stasis ulcers. Contra-indications include severe arterial insufficiency, infections, and phlebitis. The consistent, gradient compression, combined with natural pumping action of the leg muscles during normal movement, provide a highly effective mode for edema reduction. The CompreFit UNIVERSAL is extremely durable and can be machine washed/dried (see care instructions).
Comprefit is easy to apply!
Economical
The CompreFit costs less than other national brands offering similar compression and lasts longer than bandages. The CompreFit also saves hundreds of hours per year when compared to wrapping and rerolling bandages.

Strap Extenders
-
Put on cotton sock or stockinette stocking. Cotton socks or surgical stockinette must be worn under the CompreFit for skin protection and ventilation. To reduce odor and bacteria, silver stockinette is recommend.
-
Open the strap closest to the ankle.
-
Center the back strap of the CompreFit with the back of the leg.
-
Beginning with the strap near the ankle, remove the straps from the StrapKeeper™ and insert the strap through the slot that offers the best fit (make sure there is at least 1" of loop to attach the Velcro hook).
-
Gently pull the strap until the desired compression is achieved (consult your physician or therapist). You may need to angle the strap up or down slightly to achieve the best fit.
-
Press the hook ends against the loop on the straps to engage Velcro closure.
-
Continue connecting straps successively from the bottom to the top of the garment in an overlapping fashion. If the straps are too long, see trim adjustments instructions.
-
To readjust compression, loosen each strap from top to bottom. Re-tighten straps working from bottom to top.
-
When removing the garment, fold the Velcro straps over against the StrapKeeper to prevent from getting tangled.
How Do I Care for My CompreFit?
Care
The CompreFit Universal should be laundered regularly to maintain good hygiene and product integrity. Before washing, fasten all Velcro straps. Machine wash gentle cycle with mild detergent and warm water on regular cycle. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Machine dry on low heat. Do not use a commercial washing machine or dryer as the high temperatures may damage product.
Trim Adjustment
The CompreFit Universal is designed to allow approximately 4 inches (10cm) of circuferential adjustment. To accommodate this wide range of adjustment the strap ends extend beyond the back of the garment at the smaller settings. Therefore, it may become necessary to trim the length of the straps to achieve optimal fit. Here are a few considerations when trim-adjusting the CompreFit:
-
The straps should lay flat against the garment at least 1 inch (2.5cm), and past the slots onto the loop fabric, but not beyond the back piece of the garment. The excess strap beyond this length may be trim- adjusted to avoid interfering with the other straps and provide an ideal fit.
-
A standard scissors may be used to trim-adjust the straps.
- Trim the straps to form a semi-circle at the end of the strap for easier application.
- The back of the garment can be trim-adjusted up to one inch (2.5cm) at the top of the garment if it is too long. Trim off as much as needed (up to 1 inch) above the stitch line. Straps and back of garment can be trimmed to preference.
- Continue to trim adjust as the circumference of the limb decreases, or as deemed necessary.
