How Do I Care for My CompreFit?
Care
The CompreFit Universal should be laundered regularly to maintain good hygiene and product integrity. Before washing, fasten all Velcro straps. Machine wash gentle cycle with mild detergent and warm water on regular cycle. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Machine dry on low heat. Do not use a commercial washing machine or dryer as the high temperatures may damage product.
Trim Adjustment
The CompreFit Universal is designed to allow approximately 4 inches (10cm) of circuferential adjustment. To accommodate this wide range of adjustment the strap ends extend beyond the back of the garment at the smaller settings. Therefore, it may become necessary to trim the length of the straps to achieve optimal fit. Here are a few considerations when trim-adjusting the CompreFit:
- The straps should lay flat against the garment at least 1 inch (2.5cm), and past the slots onto the loop fabric, but not beyond the back piece of the garment. The excess strap beyond this length may be trim- adjusted to avoid interfering with the other straps and provide an ideal fit.
- A standard scissors may be used to trim-adjust the straps.
- Trim the straps to form a semi-circle at the end of the strap for easier application.
- The back of the garment can be trim-adjusted up to one inch (2.5cm) at the top of the garment if it is too long. Trim off as much as needed (up to 1 inch) above the stitch line. Straps and back of garment can be trimmed to preference.
- Continue to trim adjust as the circumference of the limb decreases, or as deemed necessary.
